Originally a wooden framed white building built around 1834, the church was
rebuilt in approx. 1880 after a fire and again in approx. 1930 when
the frame building burned again. When the church was rebuilt around 1930
it was rebuilt using native stone, which explains why the Whitehouse is
no longer a white house.
