| Comments: | i've been researching my mother's family, which leads me to andrew j. hannah, born 1780 in charleston, s.c. he married a woman named mary, born in 1785 in virginia. they later moved to tennessee and then to indiana, where my great grandfather, john larry hannah, married annis ruebottom in 1852 in daviss county. my grandfather, charlie hannah, then moved to arkansas in the early 1900s. i know the family is supposed to be scots-irish, but i haven't been able to track anything beyond andrew j. hannah. anyone who could help? |

Two weeks after they arrived Issac died leaving Henry an orphan. He went to New York state and then in 1854 he went to Wisconsin purchasing 80 acres. He married Bridgette Dunnegan who was also from County Mayo. They had 4 children. Lydia A. Carew of Royalton, WI., T.H. Hanna of Stevens Point Wi.,J.W. Hanna of Fond Du Lac, Wi., and Mary E. | Comments: | What a great web site. The pictures are a treasure. I am descended from Joseph Hanna of Morgan Co., Ky. and have been working on this line for nearly 25 years. There are still some weak links that will probably never be cleared. Would you likesome data on Joseph or do you already have as much as you need? He was a sheriff there and left Ky with the rest of the family, but died on the trail to Tx. I don't have the pages in front of me, but from memory they are connected to theHamilton's and Ison's of Ky. Thanks again for the pictures. |

| Comments: | Hi! My dad's name is Samuel Ernest Hanna Jr. born in Clinton, Missouri. I've been looking through Hanna clan websites for quite some time, learning all about the clan. Going to Europe the first part of next year. Am pleading with my mother to let us take a little side trip to Sorbie Tower. Don't know if I can pull it off, hate to be so close to it and not get to see it. Her side of our family is traced back to Mary Queen of Scots so, she's not real interested in Hanna clan history. I feel my connection is more to the lowlander Hanna clan than to her uppity Highlander clan (ha). Anyway, wish me luck everyone! Valerie Hanna |

I have been told that David Cauley was half Catawba indian, do you have any information pertaining to that or if it can be confirmed? David was Sarah Jane's father. I would really appreciate any info you might give me. Thank you!! |

| Comments: | Hi Jerry, Miss hearing from you. I'm still going on the ancestors and getting better on this danged thing, (kinda). Got 1 of the Granddaughters, Colleen, out of High School, and Caitlin (Katie) will be a Junior starting Sept. Those are great to be done but I think my happiest moment was from that Will thing of Jesse P. where it Finally dawned on me C.A. Lunsford was the Cynthia Ann I had been looking for after learning her Husband Lafayette Andrews died inArk in the Civil War. Thank you. She & William Lunsford had no children. It is strange how some ancestors grow on you and others are ho-hum. Keep up the clan. Mary |

| Comments: | OK, First off people anyone with the name HANNA/HANNAH/HANNAY or have any other variation on the same are derived from the same Clan.. Secondly, to do some deep rooted study of the HANNA family name I would advise you to go to an Ulster-Scots/Scots-Irish website to get a grasp of the true family origins as from the time of the Ulster Plantation. "I'm sure Jerry has already probably looked this up" so it's worth a bit of further investigation..! If you are living in a Southern State of America and your name is Hanna you are a descendant of the first Frontier Men/Woman, Prior to the arrival of the Irish..! Yes you are not Irish-American but Scots-Irish totally different thing altogether and you will find that a |

| Comments: | Thanks for all the great information. I enjoy genealogy and I look forward to looking through your information on the Hannas more closely. My husband is related to the Hannas through the Joneses, Lindseys, & Williamses. We've been to the cemetary in Regency. I'm so glad you took pictures. We went a while ago & did not. |

| Comments: | I found your family history most interesting, I have recently started checking into my own family history and there aer some amazing simularities. Who knows we may even be related some how. I have peiced togeather origins from Scotland and then into Ireland , I have very good information dating back to the mid and late 1800's. Reading your history has shed a little light on peices prior to that. I was interested in finding out who, how,why and when the family transplanted to Ireland. I also know all of my family history from Mountcharles, just out side of Donegel Ireland forward to America. Do you have roots from that area around the 1800's ? Anyway I wanted to say thank you for putting up a site like you have. |

| Comments: | Thanks so much for researching our ancestry. I'm Jesse Little Hanna's daughter and I'm looking forward to meeting you. I visited with your Dad today and picked up the clipping you left of Mom and Dad's wedding announcement September 5, 1936. Mom (Etta Hanna) was thrilled to get it. She didn't know such an announcement existed. She said after 68 years, it was quite a surprise. I am using my neighbor's e:mail address to send this to you. If you ever want to talk to me in person, just call me at 376-2222. |

| Comments: | Hi Jerry! I am a descendent of Jesse P. Hanna of the "Hanna Valley" Hanna's in central Texas. My father was Hollis Howard Hanna, my Grandfather was Harmon Howard Hanna, his father was Robert Lee Hanna who had a twin brother.Sorry, that's as far back as I can take it without referring to my notes. I began researching the family history many years ago, but work and life got in the way. Hopefully I will once again have some time to focus my energies in this direction during the beginning of the new year when I take on the task of staying home with a new granddaughter so my daughter can finish her last semester of college. We shall see. I still check the internet once in a while to see whose out there and what |

My brother, Jess, is also into genealogy and will be very interested to have your information to put with that which he has. At present they are on an Airstream caravan to Canada, but will return at the end of September. I'm sure he'll want to contact you. Sue Brown |
